QA engineer
Daniel James Resourcing
QA Engineer
Every booking, itinerary, and customer promise depends on software that holds under real travel pressure. You will be the person who proves our products are safe, accurate, and ready before a traveler or partner ever sees them. This role exists to stop defects from becoming missed flights, broken bookings, or lost trust—and to raise the standard of how we ship.
Performance Objectives
- Own quality for priority travel products so critical booking, payment, and itinerary flows meet agreed release criteria before go-live.
- Design and run risk-based test plans that catch high-impact defects early, cutting escaped production issues on owned areas quarter over quarter.
- Build and maintain automated regression for core journeys so releases stay fast without sacrificing safety or accuracy.
- Partner with product, engineering, and operations to turn customer and partner failures into clear, prioritized defects with reproducible evidence.
- Define measurable quality gates—coverage, defect severity, and release readiness—and hold teams to them.
- Validate fixes in production-like conditions, including peak demand, multi-brand rules, and cross-border edge cases.
- Share findings in plain language so leaders can decide with confidence, not guesswork.
Environment & Resources
You will sit with a cross-functional product squad and report to the quality lead. You will have access to staging environments, test data, automation frameworks, defect tools, and release dashboards, plus time with operations and customer-support partners who see failures first. Scope and priorities are set with engineering and product; you influence what ships, not only what is tested after the fact.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven record of testing complex transactional systems where accuracy, uptime, and customer trust are non-negotiable.
- Hands-on skill designing test cases, exploratory sessions, and automation that protect critical user journeys.
- Ability to trace a defect from customer impact back to root cause and drive a clear fix.
- Comfort working with APIs, data, and multi-step workflows across web and partner integrations.
- Clear written and verbal communication with engineers, product owners, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Judgment to balance speed and safety when a release is under pressure.
Why This Role
- Your work protects real journeys—not abstract features—across a global travel network.
- Quality is treated as a core value: safe, ambitious, respectful, and future-focused.
- You will shape how a multi-brand travel business tests and releases, not only execute a script.
- Diverse teams, visible impact, and room to grow with people who play to win together.
