We’re looking for an experienced Microsoft Infrastructure Specialist to join our clients internal IT team as the senior technical escalation point.

We’re looking for someone who has spent years supporting and improving Microsoft enterprise environments and is recognised as the technical expert within their team.

This isn’t a service desk role and it isn’t a project-only role.

You’ll act as the senior point of escalation for complex infrastructure issues while mentoring junior engineers and helping deliver ongoing Microsoft cloud and infrastructure improvements across a growing organisation.

6 Month Contract | £275/day Inside IR35 | Fully Remote

What we’re looking for

You’ll have extensive hands-on experience supporting enterprise Microsoft environments, with particular strength in:

• Microsoft 365
• Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Intune
• Exchange Online
• SharePoint Online
• OneDrive
• Identity & Access Management (SSO, SAML, MFA, Conditional Access)
• Windows Server
• Active Directory
• PowerShell automation

You’ll also be comfortable working across:

• VMware
• DNS / DHCP
• VLANs
• Firewalls
• Windows networking
• AWS or Azure infrastructure

This role is suited to someone who…

• Has been the senior technical escalation point within an infrastructure team.
• Has led Microsoft 365 or identity migrations and improvements.
• Can confidently explain technical concepts to junior engineers.
• Writes PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks.
• Enjoys solving difficult infrastructure problems rather than simply logging tickets.
• Can demonstrate the impact they’ve personally had on previous environments.

What you’ll be doing

• Owning complex Microsoft infrastructure incidents.
• Supporting and optimising Microsoft 365 services.
• Managing Entra ID, Intune and identity services.
• Working across Windows Server and VMware environments.
• Supporting ongoing cloud and infrastructure projects.
• Mentoring junior engineers.
• Identifying opportunities to automate and improve BAU processes.

Essential Experience

• 5+ years supporting Microsoft 365 in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with Entra ID, Intune and identity management.
• Excellent Microsoft 365 troubleshooting skills.
• Good PowerShell scripting.
• Strong Windows Server and Active Directory knowledge.
• VMware administration experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
