Senior Applied AI Engineer – C#/.NET & Generative AI

Sheffield | Hybrid – 3 days onsite | Up to £80,000

We’re partnering with an established, international B2B SaaS organisation investing heavily in the next generation of its products. They’re looking for a Senior Product Engineer who combines strong full-stack engineering capability with genuine commercial exposure to AI/LLM-powered products.

This isn’t an “AI-assisted coding” role. We’re looking for someone who has actually integrated AI into a product or solution and wants to help shape how AI is used across a modern SaaS platform.

What you’ll be doing

• Building and evolving customer-facing SaaS products using C# / .NET
• Working full-stack across frontend, APIs, backend services and databases
• Integrating LLMs / Generative AI capabilities into real-world products
• Designing secure, scalable APIs and cloud-native services
• Working with React, Angular, Next.js or similar modern frontend technologies
• Contributing to AI architecture, guardrails, security and responsible model usage
• Working closely with Product, Engineering and Architecture to take ideas from concept through to production
• Mentoring engineers and helping drive strong engineering standards

What we’re looking for

• Strong commercial C# / .NET engineering experience
• Genuine full-stack product engineering background
• Experience building or integrating AI / LLM functionality into a commercial product
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS
• Strong API, SQL/database and modern software engineering knowledge
• CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
• Understanding of SOLID principles, clean architecture and scalable design
• Comfortable operating at Senior Engineer level within a product-led environment

Particularly interesting

Experience with OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, local LLMs, RAG, AI agents, model security or AI guardrails would be highly attractive.

Salary: Up to £80,000 depending on experience

Location: Sheffield

Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite
